So many books, so little time

I've stumbled onto Words Without Borders, and my head aches from the gears turning, cranking out plans to devote more time to reading, learn to read faster, triumph over my spacey, unfocused nature, finally step up and be the clear-headed, ambitious, worldly, curious person I was meant to be, etc, etc. Owww.

WWB's stated mission is:
to introduce exciting international writing to the general public—travelers, teachers, students, publishers, and a new generation of eclectic readers—by presenting international literature not as a static, elite phenomenon, but a portal through which to explore the world.
With vibrant photos, compelling book recommendations, and international lit-blog links, the site is a book-lover's candy store. My immediate reactions:

- Love the title That Awful Mess on the via Merulana; but will it be too violent for my weak heart?

- Since Pippi Longstalking was my childhood hero, I am intrigued by Arnon Grunberg's claim that author Astrid Lindgren's superior creation was Karlsson-On-The-Roof, whom he describes as "the best example of a benign anarchist."

- Must read Literature From the Axis of Evil.
