The best part about seeing former Luscious Jackson crooner, Jill Cuniff, at The Hotel Cafe was her opening act: a wood nymph who plays every instrument you see in the tub, plus a few more. Light-up stars adorned her hair (powered by the battery pack tucked under her shirt), and the gal could really sing. Imagine Bjork crossed with Martha Wainwright crossed with Beth Orton... Pasadena Weekly quite rightly hails the "resolutely indie" appeal of her "freak folk."
